With barely enough time to unpack his luggage from Singapore, we’ll soon be sending our Service Engineer Falk Wildgrube back out the door with yet another SINUS-220. This time, the destination is Thailand — a land of pristine beaches and magnificent food that just happens to be home to a regional solar integrator that also manufacturers PV cells and modules: Solartron Public Co. Ltd (www.solartron.co.th).

Solartron is currently in the process of upgrading its manufacturing facilities to a total of
200 MW of annual production capacity. In the process of the company’s expansion, they’re also keeping a keen eye on quality and efficiency. The Thailand-based manufacturer plans to achieve cell efficiencies of 18% within a short time after its new facility goes online.

With ambitious goals like these, it’s no wonder Solartron is interested in obtaining the best efficiency measurement under the sun using the latest LED solar simulation technology from Wavelabs. And we’re delighted to supply it, making for two deals in Southeast Asia this fall alone. The only problem is, at this pace, we’re not sure Falk will even have a chance to hit the beach between deliveries!

The SINUS-220 LED solar simulator is currently one of the best simulators under the sun, providing nearly flawless efficiency measurement of solar cells.
