WAVELABS launches first all-in-one solar module metrology system for production lines
The Leipzig-based technology company for LED Metrology Systems, WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems GmbH, has developed two new generations of solar module flashers for production and research, respectively. SINUS-3000 PRO is the first commercially available all-in-one solar module flasher for production lines while SINUS-3000 ADVANCED is specifically designed for the demanding research of modules based on perovskite-silicon tandem (PST), multi-junction or other new material cells. Both systems will be launched at Intersolar 2023 in Munich, Germany. Leipzig, Germany, June 12, [...]
Accelerate your Cut-Cell Measurement
Exact characterization of up to three cut cells with one flash. Providing individual measurement data sets for each cut cell.
WAVELABS defines requirements and solutions for the characterization of PST solar cells
WAVELABS, the world's leading developer and supplier of state-of-the-art LED cell flasher solutions, has published a white paper discussing the promising PST cell technology and the requirements for cell test systems. Also known as perovskite silicon tandem, PST photovoltaic cells achieved an efficiency record of over 31.25% for the first time in 2022. PST cells are therefore seen as a beacon of hope that will enable the even faster roll-out of renewable energies in the fight against the climate [...]
WCPEC-8: Torsten Brammer: Machine Learning and Led Solar Simulators for Fast Efficiency Improvements
LECTURE/VIDEO How can we proof the efficiency of solar cells even faster in production but also in R&D? At #WCPEC8 our founder Torsten Brammer presents two methods to achieve this goal by machine learning by the flexibility of a LED solar simulator. The World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC-8) is the world’s biggest platform for PV research and development. It combines the three largest and most prominent international PV conferences: the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC), [...]
WCPEC-8: Hannes Wagner: A Machine Learning Strategy for Analysing PERC and TOPCon Solar Cells in Mass-Production
LECTURE/VIDEO
Watch the video of Hannes Wagner-Mohnsen, Data Scientist at WAVELABS, about machine learning given at the 21st International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD, 13-17 September 2021).
WCPEC-8: Bernhard Klöter: Accurate High Throughput Current-Voltage Classification of High Efficiency Silicon Solar Cells
LECTURE/VIDEO Modern manufacturing of advanced PERC, TOPCon or HJT silicon solar cells can maintain high excess minority carrier lifetimes into finished device. Such cells are inherently slower to respond to transients in terminal voltages, making steady-state current-voltage sweeps incompatible with today’s industrial throughput requirements. Bernhard Klöter discusses the use of the RapidWAVE® method implemented in WAVELABS SINUS-300 LED solar simulators to address the requirements for throughput without sacrificing accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility of the reported performance and sorting [...]
What do you think makes our industry so special? Dr. Torsten Brammer on the WCPEC-8
LECTURE/VIDEO The 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion will take place from 26 – 30 September 2022 in the Milano Convention Centre in Milan. The PVSEC has played an important role in the history of WAVELABS. This year we celebrated our 11th birthday at WCPEC8 in Milan. Our founder Torsten Brammer explains what these events represent for him personally. What are your experiences? Will you join the next IEEE or EUPVSEC in 2023? Thank you WIP Renewable [...]
The dawn of a new era: WAVELABS to appoint new top management and advisory board
The Leipzig-based world market leader for LED-based solar simulators, WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems GmbH, is reorganizing its personnel. The three WAVELABS founders Jörn Suthues, Dr. Thankmar Wagner and Dr. Torsten Brammer will in future drive the strategic development of WAVELABS together with the financial investor Andreas Hülsmann (Golden Circle, Hamburg) through the newly created advisory board. The new managing directors are Jörn Suthues and Dr. Patrick Mergell. Leipzig, September 22, 2022 – WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems GmbH was founded [...]
