Konrad is again a genious and socially minded!
In July 2013, school boy Konrad joined us for a day for the first time, see our post from July 9, 2013 “Corporate social responsibility of a start-up”. He donated his salary to the fundraising activity “genial sozial”. This project funds aid projects worldwide. Konrad liked the idea of genialsozial and the work with us so much that he came back in 2014! Wow, he changed quite a bit, he is 17 now. This time he did some real [...]
Silver medal goes to … WAVELABS!
WAVELABS was awarded the Silver medal of the innovation contest “IQ Innovationspreis”. 40 companies were in the race in the cluster Energy/Ecology/Solar in one of the most prestigious award of the German states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. With companies like Siemens, RWE and Envia on the board, the second place feels like winning an Oscar! http://www.iq-mitteldeutschland.de/iq/wettbewerb/wettbewerb.html
LED’s flash for Fraunhofer
Joseph Fraunhofer was knighted by King Maximilian II of Bavaria in 1824. His Optical Institute was widely recognized as the world’s leading producer of fine optics. Fraunhofer invented the spectroscope so that he could characterize the quality of his glass products with far greater precision than ever before. Fast forward 200 years, and the institute that bears Fraunhofer’s name has adopted another revolutionary device — but this time, the innovation comes from us. The high accuracy and flexibility were [...]

Fraunhofer CSP catches the LED wave
You are the company you keep, which is why WAVELABS couldn’t be more proud to announce its future cooperation with Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP. With the help of the renowned institution’s PV module expertise, advanced WAVELABS LED technology is now set to revolutionize module testing with the new SINUS-2100 solar simulator. The recent launch of WAVELABS’ SINUS-220 put the spotlight on LEDs as the future of solar simulation for PV cells. But that’s just one piece of [...]
Making waves outside the lab
It’s again EU-PVSEC time, c’est formidable, because we love Paris and it’s a great opportunity for us to present our opinion on the current status of the international code IEC 60904-9. It defines how to measure the efficiency of solar cells, worldwide. We think it needs a thorough overhaul so that it remains the industry standard. Progress in solid-state lighting technology allows far more accurate and precise efficiency measurements than what is regarded as sufficient by this code (it’s [...]
LED’s read pv-magazine
We have received very good feedback on our product from the industry. But also the independent publishing community thinks that the time is ripe for something new for the efficiency measurement of solar cells. The gobally read publication pv-magazine (global edition) asked us to write a detailed feature for the September issue. Disadvantages of xenon-based solar simulators and WAVELABS’ approach to make it better with LEDs are the topics. Download the pdf and send me your comments to t.brammer@wavelabs.de! [...]
WAVELABS delivers its first SINUS-220 to leading PV company
When you put your heart and soul into developing a new technology, there are never any guarantees. So you can imagine how pleased we are to report the first sale of our SINUS-220 LED solar simulator. And what pleases us even more is where our pride and joy is going: to none other than Hanwha Q CELLS, a leading figure in the solar industry responsible for some of the most advanced technology on the market. This is precisely the [...]
