The Leipzig-based technology company for LED solar simulators, WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems GmbH, was named as a finalist for the “The smarter E AWARD 2024” in the “Photovoltaics” category for the application SINUS-3000 PRO.
Leipzig, Germany, June 13, 2024 – The award-winning German developer and producer of LED-based solar simulators, WAVELABS, will be presenting the SINUS-3000 PRO at the upcoming Intersolar Europe, which will take place in Munich from June 19-21, 2024. WAVELABS’ next-generation multipurpose solar module characterization system is the perfect fit for PV manufacturing as well as various research and development applications. It integrates all end-of-line tests according to IEC/UL 61730 in one tool while ensuring high throughput with less than 20 seconds per module for all measurement steps. With illumination times of up to 1,000 ms and the patented RapidWAVE® technology, SINUS-3000 PRO is also ready for high-efficiency cell technologies such as HJT and TopCon.
WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems was named as a finalist for “The Smarter E AWARD 2024” in the “Photovoltaics” category for the application SINUS-3000 PRO. The Solar Prize, previously known as the Intersolar AWARD, is presented to companies that make a substantial contribution to the industry’s success: every year, the solar award honors technological innovations and groundbreaking solutions. Since 2008, the flagship award for the solar industry has given solar companies a unique platform to gain broad international recognition and distinguish themselves from the competition.
Last year, WAVELABS received the Intersolar Award. The jury honored the SINUS-360 ADVANCED, which serves as all-in-one diagnostic tool for accurate and rapid characterization of PV cells in research and test environments but is just as well used by renowned manufacturers in production. This year’s Smarter E AWARD ceremony will be held on June 18, 2024 at 6:15 p.m. at the ICM – International Congress Center Messe München.
“We are delighted to have been nominated and would like to thank the jury for recognizing our work and development efforts,” says Gerrit Laube, product engineer for SINUS-3000 PRO. “The SINUS-3000 PRO combines different characterization options in one system that would normally require several individual tools. The modular design allows the creation of various settings tailored to the specific needs of any customer, from laboratory to manufacturing. The range spans from stand-alone EL lab tools with manual module loading to fully fitted, automated all-in-one manufacturing tools that incorporate all the end-of-line tests needed in modern production.”
In addition to the SINUS-3000 PRO, WAVELABS will launch a new LED solar simulator optimized for cells and mini-modules with thin-film and perovskite technology. The tool will be presented at Booth A2.531 for the first time to the public.
