LED’s characterISE this as a win-win

Fraunhofer ISE, one of the world’s most important solar PV research institutes and home to the renowned CalLab, has purchased a SINUS-220 LED solar simulator. The WAVELABS flasher will initially be used for characterisation. Depending on the results, future calibration duties are not out of the question. Fraunhofer ISE is hoping to benefit from advantages of LED technology including improved temporal stability of spectrum and reduced maintenance. It’s fantastic to see them acquiring WAVELABS technology, however they choose to utilISE it.
