IEA’s World Energy Outlook for PV. Spectacular but Conservative?

The international energy agency (IEA) has recently published its World Energy Outlook (WEO) for 2018, with PV expecting to have a run rate between 90-110 GW added per year from now till 2040.  If that were to happen, it would mean a whopping 2200 GW in solar capacity added between now and then.

However, since past is often prologue, we will not be surprised if solar does it yet again, and exceeds even this optimistic expectation to the upside!
